I feel this drill bit would be best used prior to any sanding as a quick way of producing accurately spaced drill holes when used with the drill bit guide.

For customers that require a cleaner cut with minimal tear-out, I suggest using this bit at a high speed or using a router and guide bush fitted with a down-cut spiral cutter (see video) or drilling through a clamped, sacrificial MDF cover board; any of these techniques should lead to a significantly cleaner finish.
