The Veritas Plane Iron for No.4 1/2 & No.6 – O1 Steel, 25 Degree is oil-quenched and double-tempered to Rc58-60 and sharpen more quickly than A2 or PM-V11.
O1 blades are easy to hone to a very fine edge, relatively quickly, but require honing more frequently than A2 or PM-V11, as they dull more readily.
